New Year's Resolution. 1990 is here, and so now's the time to make your resolution for the year and the decade. One great resolution to consider is supporting the Center by becoming a member. You can join with a single payment ($15 to $25 individual; $25 to $40 household), or you can pledge a monthly sustainer. Single one-time donations are also welcome if you prefer not to be on our mailing list (let us know when you give).

Contributions are tax deductible when made payable to "The Center" or "LGCSC." As this column shows, the Center is working hard in many ways to serve Greater Cleveland's lesbian-gay community. But, we can only do so with your help. Join us for 1990! Call the Center at 522-1999 for more information.

House Parties. Giving should be fun, and how better than by throwing a party for your friends? The Center House Parties are starting again, and they are not an event to miss. Your friends will enjoy your hospitality and great recipes, and the Center will dazzle then with a terrific presentation! Call the Center if you'd like to host one.

PRYSM (Presence and Respect for Youth in Sexual Minority) has mailed information packets to 150 area schools and agencies serving young people in Greater Cleveland. The packets offer insight and perspectives on the issues facing gay and lesbian youth, and provide information on the resources available to youth and parents.

Men in Touch. The next Men in Touch series begins Tuesday, January 16, 1990 at 7 p.m. Men in Touch is a group on gay male identity which explores intimacy, sexuality and communication. The group meets for six weeks and is

limited to the same participants for

this period. If you'd like to join the next series, call the Center.

It's A Stage. The Center show tune sing-a-longs continue Wednesday January 17, 1990 at 8 p.m. This month's scores are from The Boyfriend and Annie Get Your Gun. Call the Hotline for more information.

Centertainment. The response to this new program has been great. If you like plays, concerts and similar events, let's go together. Tickets are still available for Fences at the Cleveland Playhouse on February 22, and The Unsinkable Molly Brown at the State Theatre, March 13. Call the Center to get on the mailing list.

Victims' Assistance. The Center is looking at starting a program to assist victims of anti-gay discrimination and violence. Counselors are needed who are skilled in dealing with victims of violence. Call Aubrey Wertheim at the Center.

Crash Bars. The Center is seeking a donation of panic bars or "crash bars" for our doors, allowing fast escape in the event of fire. If you can help, call the Center.

Pride '90. The Cleveland Lesbian-Gay Pride Committee is starting work to organize this year's Pride '90 celebration, to be held Saturday, June 16. The first organizational meeting will be Thursday, January 11, at 7:30 p.m. at the Center. Refreshments will be served. Come and help make Pride '90 a success!

New Board Members. Three new members have joined the Center's Board of Trustees. Randy Gearhart is a former executive director of the Health Issues Taskforce (HIT), and is now a social worker in private practice serving the lesbian-gay community. Gearhart has also worked as a National Coordinator of the Gay Men's Conference.

Bruce Horn has been a Center volunteer since May. As reported in last month's Chronicle, Horn was elected first vice president, and will be concentrating on fundraising and membership.

Kimberly Taylor is member of the North Coast Lesbian Alliance, and is active in the Cleveland Pride Committee and Lesbian Mothers Group.

Aries-January is an excellent month to promote any talents you possess. Caution should be advised if any legal documents need signing before the 21st, however. All the facts may mysteriously withhold until then. Love issues can't be beat in the first week. Decisions to weed out emotional garbage between the ninth and 16th make nagging friends very happy. Re-evaluation of domestic scene from the 26th til month's end

enables you to land on your feet once again. Enjoy

some nice creature comforts.

Taurus-This month you experience travel fever. Opportunities to do so in the first week present just what the doctor ordered. Family and friends provide an excellent escape from tense career situations in the second week. From the 14th through the 21st, solutions advice and counsel can cost. Legalities and career both improve after the 21st when you can see more clearly. Romance makes you feel whole again between the 23rd and 28th. Surprise endings turn out in your favor.

Gemini-Being featured for a job well done can make you rich this month. Submit all material that can advance your career. On the fifth, 21st, and 28th gambling in alliance with skill provide the best winning combination. Love issues look cloudy until the 20th when partners take the blinders off. Domestic scene resembles a circus in the last week. Expect upsets.

Cancer-Much opportunity comes through partnership. Sparkle in the eye of the public all month. Saying and doing just the right thing on the sixth, 15th, and 29th allows dreams and wishes to become reality. Business cards played in the first week do not materialize until the fourth week. Do not be discouraged. Romance is cramped in somewhere between the tenth and 18th, but don't expect firecrackers. The best is yet to come. Be patient. Friends and domestic concerns test your tolerance level from the 20th til month's end.

Leo-Romantic interests oppose heavy work loads. It's a toss up who gets your attention. Secrets surround the lovelife until the 19th. Complications can occur in the second week by not being up front and honest. Risks engaged in from the 21st through the 28th can threaten existing domestic turf. This is no time to be unconscientious. Windfalls at the month's end are really due to someone else's hard work. Please share the honors.

Virgo-Everyone just happens to have someone for you to meet right now. Match making skills are "right on" on the first, sixth, 24th, and 25th. You can very possibly be swept off your feet. This scares you but it is your turn for some success in this area. Enjoy business aspects that finally improve after the 22nd. Partnerships enhance profits all month. Lean on people that owe favors.

Libra-Separations from partners hopefully are in mind only. Differences need to be worked out. The first week brings a lot of frustrations as decisions are forced on you. Home, career, and partnership issues have you tied up in knots all month. Using business time wisely between the 18th and 28th increases security. Feeling less dependent after the 22nd can very magically be the answer to all this confusion. Good luck.

Scorpio-Communication skills enhance reputation and career all month. Impressing just the right individuals on the first, sixth, and 13th pushes you up a few rungs on that proverbial ladder. Romantic involvement is shallow in the first week, but deeper and more meaningful in the last week. Saying no to co-workers and the "system" between the 20th and 27th surprisingly puts you out front again. Any travel increases profit now.

Sagittarius-Romance interests you, but finances consume you. Enjoy winning on the first, sixth and 15th. Extra credit is given to you from those in authority in the first week. You've grown considerably this past year. Launching new business projects after the 21st have a better chance of success. Communication with partners and the public become easier. Best romantic days are the 23rd through the 30th.

Capricorn-Important allies include long standing friends. Leap into this New Year having the business edge on competitors. On the sixth, 15th, and 29th small opportunities presented are actually much bigger than they appear. Romance takes on a new form after the 20th. Being able to communicate desires between the 22nd and 28th doubles long awaited satisfaction. Domestic trials are temporary at month's end. Don't panic.

Aquarius-Changes in career states are beneficial now. Being sought after flatters you in the first and fourth week. Family struggles between the tenth and 19th are tedious but gratifying. Pressures can magically disappear after the 20th when information that has been withheld finally arrives. Tension is erased by finding direction. Romantic flings have half a chance on the sixth, 17th, and 23rd. Control issues will be challenged however.

Pisces-Financial blunders can consume the first week as opportunities presented seem to be more than you can handle. This is your month to succeed, however even if partners don't agree. Friction between loved ones stems from not getting enough time alone. Scheduling problems subside after the 21st. Love concerns take a real back seat until month's end. Hang on.
